E3 2017
E3, also known as the Electronic Entertainment Expo, is an annual trade fair for the video game industry. The event is used by video game developers, publishers, and hardware manufacturers to reveal and showcase their upcoming products and games. E3 2017 will take place from June 13-15, 2017, at the Los Angeles Convention Center in Los Angeles, California.
Xbox One X
The Xbox One X was revealed at E3 2017. The console is set to release on November 7, 2017, and will retail for $499 USD. The Xbox One X is a high-end version of the Xbox One, and is intended to compete with Sony’s PlayStation 4 Pro.
The console was originally codenamed “Project Scorpio”, and was first unveiled at E3 2016. The console features upgraded hardware over the standard Xbox One, including a faster processor and more memory. The console also supports true 4K gaming, and will be compatible with all existing Xbox One software and accessories.
Project Scorpio
Project Scorpio is the codename for the Xbox One video game console being developed by Microsoft. Announced in 2016, it is scheduled to be released in the fourth quarter of 2017 as an upgrade to the existing Xbox One console. Project Scorpio is designed to support 4K resolution and high-fidelity virtual reality.
The console was first hinted at on January 21, 2016, during an interview with Xbox head Phil Spencer and Windows Central journalist Jez Corden. It was officially announced during Microsoft’s E3 2016 press conference on June 13, 2016. More details were revealed at E3 2017 on June 11, including its final name, Xbox One X, release date of November 7, price of $499 USD, and specifications.
The system includes 8 CPU cores and 6 teraflops of graphics processing power, making it the most powerful console ever made as of its release date. It also has 12 GB of GDDR5 RAM and 1 TB of storage.
Forza Motorsport 7
Forza Motorsport 7 is a racing video game developed by Turn 10 Studios and published by Microsoft Studios, serving as the tenth installment in the Forza series. It was released worldwide on October 3, 2017, for Microsoft Windows and Xbox One. An early access version of the game was released on September 29, 2017 for Ultimate Edition buyers. The game was announced at the Xbox E3 conference in 2016 and is considered an Xbox Play Anywhere title.
The game features more than 700 cars—including Ferraris, Lamborghinis and Porsches—and more than 200 different configurations to race on across 30 locations at launch. The game will also dynamically change weather conditions. All of this content will be available at launch and does not require any additional in-game purchases.
Crackdown 3
Crackdown 3 is an upcoming action-adventure video game for the Microsoft Windows and Xbox One platforms. Developed by Reagent Games, Sumo Digital, and Cloudgine, and published by Microsoft Studios, it is a sequel to the 2010 video game Crackdown 2. The game was initially set to be released in 2016 but was pushed back to 2017.
Crackdown 3 is a sandbox style game with open world elements set in the fictional world of Pacific City. The game’s primary campaign mode will see players assume the role of law enforcement agents known as “the Agency” as they attempt to take down crime lord Erie da Silva and his organization. In addition to the campaign mode, the game will also feature a multiplayer mode which will be set in an entirely separate world from the campaign mode; this multiplayer mode will be focused on destruction and will feature “fully realized” physics.
The game was first hinted at in mid-2014 by series creator Dave Jones, who stated that a third entry in the series was “something [he’d] like to do”. It was officially announced at E3 2014, during Microsoft’s press conference, with a trailer featuring footage of destructible environments. At E3 2015, a gameplay trailer was shown, which revealed that Terry Crews would provide voice work for the game. In May 2016, it was announced that due to creative differences, original Crackdown 3 developer Ruffian Games had left the project.
State of Decay 2
State of Decay 2 is an upcoming survival horror video game developed by Undead Labs and published by Microsoft Studios. It is a sequel to the 2013 video game State of Decay. State of Decay 2 is set in an open world environment and will feature cooperative multiplayer gameplay. The game is scheduled to be released in 2018 for Microsoft Windows and Xbox One.
On May 22, 2017, at their E3 conference, Undead Labs announced that State of Decay 2 would release on Xbox One and Windows 10 on May 22, 2018.
Sea of Thieves
Microsoft’s newest exclusive IP, Sea of Thieves, was shown off in more detail at their E3 conference this year. The game is a pirating adventure game that seems to place an emphasis on cooperative play. players will be able to take on quests together and plunder the seas for treasure. The game looks like it will be a lot of fun for those who are into more light-hearted gaming experiences.
PlayStation 4
The PlayStation 4 (PS4) is a home video game console developed by Sony Computer Entertainment. Announced as the successor to the PlayStation 3 in February 2013, it was launched on November 15 in North America, November 29 in Europe, South America and Australia, and February 22, 2014, in Japan. It competes with Microsoft’s Xbox One and Nintendo’s Wii U and Switch.
God of War
God of War is an action-adventure video game developed by Santa Monica Studio and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE). Released on April 20, 2018, for the PlayStation 4 (PS4) console, it is the eighth installment in the God of War series, the eighth chronologically, and the sequel to 2010’s God of War III. Unlike previous games in the series, which were loosely based on Greek mythology, this installment is loosely based on Norse mythology. Kratos returns as the game’s protagonist, and he now has a son named Atreus. Promoting the idea of being a father figure, Kratos must learn to control his rage so that he can teach Atreus how to do so as well. Along their journey, they encounter undead warriors and various monsters from Norse mythology.
The game received universal acclaim from critics, with many people praising its story, characters, world exploration mechanics, combat system, graphics, and music. Several gaming publications named it one of the best video games of 2018. It won several “Game of the Year” awards at annual ceremonies held by different gaming publications and award shows. A sequel is currently in development.
Detroit: Become Human
Detroit: Become Human is a video game developed by Quantic Dream and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. The game was released on May 25, 2018, for the PlayStation 4. The game is set in the near future in Detroit, where androids are commonplace in society. The player takes control of three protagonists, Kara, Connor, and Markus; all three have unique perspectives and games can be lost or won depending on the decisions that are made.
Spider-Man
At E3 2017, Sony Interactive Entertainment announced that Spider-Man would be a PlayStation 4-exclusive game. The game is being developed by Insomniac Games, and was first hinted at in 2014. It was officially revealed at E3 2016, with a teaser trailer that showed the game’s open world New York City.
The game is set to release in 2018, and will feature an experienced Peter Parker dealing with his “advanced” Spider-Man abilities, while also facing new threats in the form of villains Mister Negative and Martin Li, also known as Hydro-Man.
Days Gone
Set in the beautiful, varied Pacific Northwest high-desert region, Days Gone is an open-world action game that explores what life might be like in the wake of a global pandemic. Deacon St. John is a former outlaw who now survives as a drifter and bounty hunter in the harsh wilderness. He’s trying to find a reason to live, but his hardened heart just might not let him.
Shadow of the Colossus
At E3 2017, Sony unveiled a new trailer for Shadow of the Colossus, an upcoming remake of the 2005 PS2 game. The game is set to release in 2018 and will be available exclusively on the PlayStation 4.
The original Shadow of the Colossus was directed by Fumito Ueda and was one of the highest-rated games of all time. The game was praised for its unique art direction, creative boss battles, and emotionally charged story.
The Shadow of the Colossus remake is being developed by Bluepoint Games, the studio behind the PS3 remasters of Ico and Shadow of the Colossus. The game will feature improved visuals and framerate, as well as new control schemes specifically designed for the PS4.

Nintendo Switch
The Nintendo Switch was unveiled at the xbox e3 conference in Los Angeles. The Switch is a home console and handheld device in one. It has a 6.2-inch touchscreen display and can be docked to play on a TV. The Switch can also be played in tabletop mode using the included Joy-Con controllers.
Super Mario Odyssey
Super Mario Odyssey is a platforming game for the Nintendo Switch released on October 27, 2017. Developed by Nintendo EPD and published by Nintendo, it is the eighteenth main installment in the Super Mario series and the sixth 3D Mario game overall. After defeating Bowser and rescuing Princess Peach, Mario sets off on a new journey through an unknown world called the “Capybara Kingdom” in order to rescue Bowser’s captive wedding plans. The game introduces numerous new gameplay features, such as the ability to capture and control various objects and enemies using Mario’s hat named Cappy; in addition, it features multiple playable characters including Peach and Toad as well as boss characters such as Pauline.
Super Mario Odyssey received critical acclaim upon release. Critics praised the game’s size and scope, calling it one of the most ambitious entries in the series; they also liked the Australian-themed “Crazy Cap” stores that allow players to purchase various items and cosmetics to customize their experience, as well as its callback elements to previous entries. At the xbox e3 conference 2017, Nintendo Switch announced Mario + Rabbits Kingdom Battle, an all-new strategy game featuring Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, and Yoshi teaming up with their favorite rabbids. The game is set in the Mushroom Kingdom, where players will use a variety of weapons and abilities to defeat their enemies.
Splatoon 2
Splatoon 2 is a third-person shooter video game developed and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo Switch. The sequel to the 2015 Wii U title Splatoon, it is a team-based shooter featuring two inklings, Octolings, and various other creatures as playable characters. Players compete online in matches of four against other players, using colored ink to attack opponents and clear goals; the team with the most points at the end of the match wins. New features include dual wielding of main and sub weapons, local and online multiplayer with new modes such as Salmon Run, as well as post-launch content in the form of Weapon Updates and Splatfests.
Xenoblade Chronicles 2
During the E3 conference in 2017, it was revealed that Xenoblade Chronicles 2 would be coming to the Nintendo Switch. The game follows the story of Rex, who joins forces with Pyra (a living weapon known as a Blade) in order to find her way to Elysium, the ultimate paradise for all of humanity.
Kirby Star Allies
Kirby Star Allies is an upcoming Kirby game for the Nintendo Switch, announced during a special Nintendo Direct presentation broadcast on March 3, 2018. It is due for release in Japan on March 16, 2018, and will be released sometime in 2018 in other regions.
The game’s primary feature is the ability for players to control not just Kirby, but also up to three enemy characters at the same time, who can be turned into allies by throwing hearts at them. Up to four players can play together locally or online. The game will also introduce new Copy Abilities never before seen in a Kirby game, such as Artist and Spider.
PC Gaming
E3, the world’s premier trade show for computer and video games and related products, is the annual event where the video game industry’s top talent comes together to celebrate the best that gaming has to offer. This three-day event is packed with announcements, trailers, and demos of the hottest upcoming games, as well as guest appearances and developer panels.
Destiny 2
Destiny 2 is a first-person shooter video game developed by Bungie and published by Activision. It was released for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on September 6, 2017. Destiny 2 is the sequel to 2014’s Destiny and its subsequent expansions, developed by Bungie and published by Activision.
Set in a ” mythic science fiction ” world, the game features a multiplayer “shared-world” environment with elements of role-playing games. Like the original Destiny, the sequel involves a massive, open world shared between all players in which they must complete missions to progress. Announced at Bungie’s press conference during E3 2017, the game was released on September 6, 2017 for the PlayStation 4, Microsoft Windows platforms, with an Xbox One version planned for release on October 24. The console versions were developed exclusively by Bungie while Vicarious Visions assisted in bringing the game to PC alongside High Moon Studios who assisted with developing additional content.
The expansion Forsaken (2018), chiefly written by Ryan Ellis, increased focus on storytelling and introduced jurisdictions outside of Earth as well as two new playable areas, The Tangled Shore and The Dreaming City. In 2019, further story content was added with Season of Opulence and Season of Arrivals which were both written by Christoper Barrett.
Middle-earth: Shadow of War
During their E3 conference, Microsoft revealed that Middle-earth: Shadow of War will be coming to Xbox One X. The game is a sequel to the 2014 title Shadow of Mordor, and it will once again pit players against the forces of Sauron in an open-world action RPG.
Shadow of War is being developed by Monolith Productions, and it will be published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. The game is set to launch on October 10th, 2017.
Star Wars Battlefront II
During the Xbox E3 conference, it was announced that Star Wars Battlefront II would be released on November 17, 2017. The game is a sequel to the 2015 game Star Wars Battlefront and will be available for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The game will feature a single-player campaign as well as multiplayer modes.
VR Gaming
The Xbox E3 conference started with a sizzle reel of upcoming games. Then Phil Spencer, Head of Xbox, took the stage to talk about the future of gaming. He announced that all Xbox One games will work on the new Xbox One X. He also showed off Forza Motorsport 7, which will be available on the Xbox One X.
Fallout 4 VR
Released in 2015, Fallout 4 is an action RPG set in a post-apocalyptic world. The game has been praised for its open-ended gameplay, player choice, and immersive world.
In 2017, Bethesda released a version of Fallout 4 for virtual reality headsets. Fallout 4 VR includes the entire game, with all of its quests, characters, and locations. The VR version of the game allows players to experience the world of Fallout in a completely new way.
Fallout 4 VR is one of the most popular virtual reality games available. It is available for the HTC Vive and Oculus Rift virtual reality headsets.
Doom VFR
Doom VFR is a 2017 virtual reality first-person shooter video game developed and published by Bethesda Softworks. The game is a spin-off of the Doom series and was released on Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on December 1, 2017. Doom VFR was announced at the 2017 Electronic Entertainment Expo.
The game is set in the Doom universe and puts the player in the shoes of a UAC Marine who must fight their way through hordes of demons. The marine can use a variety of firearms and melee weapons to defeat their foes. The game also features virtual reality support, which allows players to immerse themselves in the Doom universe like never before.
Doom VFR received mixed reviews from critics. Many praised the game’s virtual reality support and gameplay, while others felt that the game was too short and lacked content.
