Get started with Microsoft Teams on Chrome
Microsoft Teams on Chrome is a Microsoft Teams client designed for use on Chromebooks. It’s built on top of the Chromium open source project and runs on all major platforms, including Windows, Mac, Linux, and Android. With Microsoft Teams on Chrome, you can access your team conversations and files, make video and audio calls, and view your team calendar all in one place.
Microsoft Teams on Chrome is currently in preview, which means it’s not yet available to everyone. If you’re interested in trying it out, you can sign up for the preview program here.
Once you’ve been accepted into the preview program and installed Microsoft Teams on Chrome, you can sign in with your Microsoft account (the same one you use for Outlook, OneDrive, Office 365, etc.). If you don’t have a Microsoft account, you can create one for free.
Once you’re signed in, you’ll see your teams listed on the left side of the app. To join a team conversation or file, simply click on the team name. To create a new team or channel within a team, click the “+” icon next to the team name.
You can also make audio or video calls directly from Microsoft Teams on Chrome. To do so, click on the “Calls” tab at the bottom of the app and then click on the “+” icon to start a new call. You can add people to your call by clicking on their name in the “People” tab or by typing their name into the search bar at the top of the app.
Microsoft Teams on Chrome also has a built-in calendar that lets you keep track of your team’s upcoming events. To view your team calendar, click on the “Calendar” tab at the bottom of the app. Here you will see all upcoming events for all of your teams as well as any personal events that you have added to your calendar.
