How to set up the Microsoft Band 2 with iPhone
Assuming you’ve already got your Microsoft Band 2, and an iPhone running iOS 8.1 or higher, let’s get started!
- On your iPhone, open the Microsoft Health app. You should see the Discover page with a list of fitness trackers. If you don’t see the Discover page, tap the menu icon in the top-left corner of the app, then tapdiscuss.
- Tap the device you want to set up (in our case, it’s the Microsoft Band 2), then tap Set Up.
- On your Band 2, press and hold the Power button until you see the start-up screen, then release it.
- The app will now search for your device; once it finds it, tap Next in the app.
- Choose which variation of right- or left-handedness you are (for us righties, it’s Right), then tap Next in the app again.
- Now you’ll need to input your date of birth and gender; once that’s done, tap Next one last time in the app. And that’s it!
How to use the Microsoft Band 2 with iPhone
If you have an iPhone and you want to use the Microsoft Band 2, you can! Here’s how:
- Make sure your Microsoft Band 2 is charged and turned on.
- Launch the Microsoft Health app on your iPhone.
- If you’re not signed in, sign in with the same Microsoft account that you used to set up your Band.
- Tap the Devices icon > add a new device > tap Band 2.
- Follow the instructions in the app to finish setting up your Band 2.
It’s a good thing the Band 2 works with both iPhones and Android phones, because it’s a great fitness tracker and a decent smartwatch. The Health app integration is fantastic, and it’s one of the more accurate activity trackers I’ve used. It’s not perfect, but it’s good enough that I’d recommend it to most people looking for a fitness tracker.
